"There is a secret in our culture, and it's not that
childbirth is painful. It's that women are strong." Laura Stavoe Harm

Testimonials

“Lydia was my doula at the births of both of my daughters & I can't imagine what those experiences would've been like without her. For my first birth, Lydia provided plenty of insight into the birthing process...greatly preparing us for what was to come. During both births, Lydia provided comfort and much needed support and encouragement . She is a calming and inspiring presence during the labor process. I highly recommend her!!!”

“We had hired Lydia to help us with the birth of our first daughter Isabella.  She was amazing and I so highly recommend her to anyone that would like to make the birthing process easier and less stressful. We hired her for our second one too! She was helpful in guiding my husband on what to do and also what not to do during the process.  He was massaging me a little hard and she told him that when a person is in pain, they might not like it.  I might not have said anything although I totally agree with her.  She suggested lightly touching my hair and wrist instead and it really was so much better!  It helped me to relax.  Lydia had other pain relieving suggestions that made it easier. Things I would have never thought of.  She spoke up to the doctors and nurses when things were questionable and was my advocate during the birthing process and after for that matter. She told me what to expect and what might happen next. She was always there when I needed to talk during and even after my pregnancy.  She is a great person and I feel so lucky and blessed to have met her and had her help and friendship. I still feel like I could pick up the phone and call her if I had questions or needed an expert opinion. To sum it up:  Lydia ROCKS!!!!”

“I wanted my baby to be born naturally and that was the main reason I decided to have a doula to support me on the day of labor.  Even though we live quite far away from each other, she was willing to be my doula, knowing that she might have to drive a few times to help me. She is a very knowledgeable and compassionate woman, and I would like to tell my experience with Lydia to every pregnant woman that is looking for support.
Lydia understood that because I come from another country, I was going to need support communicating with the doctor about my delivery plan. She was there asking questions that would help me make my decisions about which hospital  I go to deliver my baby and all the arrangements I needed to make. She was resourceful when I was looking for lactation and child birth classes.

On the day of my birth, Lydia communicated with me via text, phone calls, and when I decided to go to the hospital, she was quick to arrive. She stayed up all night and provided wonderful support. Lydia brought a heating pad to warm my lower womb, she massaged my back, kept me hydrated and fed, she helped me focus and breathe. When I was pushing she gave me the best cooling clothes! It was empowering to know that I had Lydia to help me achieve the type of birth I wanted.
After the birth, Lydia checked in with me periodically through text and phone calls. She came to visit and make sure we were all ok. Her advice and guidance during this time was reassuring. I am very thankful I had Lydia involved in the birth of my son. I want to recommend that all pregnant woman have a doula, and if they live in the area to have Lydia!
